Shiba Inu Veteran Hints at Major Updates Ahead for SHIB Projects

In a recent X conversation, Mazrael, a Shiba Inu community veteran, hinted at major updates ahead for $SHIB projects.

The projects specifically mentioned are the Shiba Eternity game and Shiba Inu metaverse, a virtual world backed by the Shiba Inu ecosystem, which Mazrael stated had been temporarily paused.

Mazrael was responding to an X user who asked if Shiba Eternity was now online. Being Shiba Eternity’s game advisor, Mazrael’s response suggests work is ongoing behind the scenes, despite the temporary pause.

“Lots in progress,” Mazrael stated, hinting at a comeback for Shiba Eternity and Shiba Inu Metaverse, saying that both have “much updates” ready for their relaunch.

Shiba Eternity originally launched in October 2022 as a free-to-play mobile collectible card game. Following its huge success, the Shiba Inu team commenced building and testing a Play-to-Earn (P2E) Web3 version of the game on the Shibarium network. Closed beta testing of the Shiba Eternity Web3 Beta progressed in Q3 through Q4 2024.

While the timing of the Shiba Eternity and Shiba Metaverse relaunches is yet unknown, the latest update from Mazrael suggests progress behind the scenes for both projects.

As reported, Mazrael hinted that when Shib: The Metaverse (Shiba Inu metaverse) returns, it is expected to be accessible through the Shib.io website rather than a separate domain. This information comes in the wake of $SHIB legacy domains being decommissioned.

$SHIB vision isn’t dead

In a year-end letter to the $SHIB community at the close of 2025, Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya hinted at what to expect in 2026.

Dhairya spoke of pausing and sunsetting projects, systems, and processes that were not generating revenue or not hitting break-even.

While this might seem concerning, Dhairya reassured the $SHIB community that the Shiba Inu vision isn’t dead, but that it’s “just been through something hard.”

The focus will be on technology, as 2026 will be about repair, focus, and building something that can actually last.
