New Bitcoin Comments from Bloomberg’s Legendary Analyst Mike McGlone – “We’re in a Bear Market”

The Bitcoin market is entering a new phase of dynamism following a sharp increase in institutional interest in spot ETFs. According to recent data, a massive $853 million in capital has flowed into spot Bitcoin funds in a short period. Leading industry experts Dave Weisberger, David Duong, and Mike McGlone discussed these market dynamics, macroeconomic impacts, and potential Bitcoin price movements in a recent broadcast.

CoinShares Analysis Director David Duong argued that the size of the capital flowing into spot ETFs reaffirms institutional investors’ confidence in and long-term appetite for crypto assets.

Duong stated that with weakening expectations for interest rate hikes and the partial dissipation of macroeconomic uncertainties, investors are turning to risky assets, particularly Bitcoin. He noted that these fund inflows are creating significant upward pressure on the price, suggesting the market is poised to break through a new resistance level.

CoinRoute CEO Dave Weisberger highlighted the impact of ETF inflows on exchange and liquidity dynamics. Weisberger stated that over-the-counter (OTC) supply is increasingly shrinking, forcing ETF issuers to purchase directly from the market to meet demand. He argued that institutional fund flows technically support a strong breakout pattern, suggesting that the current market structure could test higher levels in the short term.

Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Commodities Strategist Mike McGlone, however, drew attention to the overall macroeconomic outlook and risk factors in the market. While acknowledging that spot ETF inflows have created short-term upward momentum, McGlone argued that global liquidity conditions and volatility in traditional financial markets should not be ignored.

McGlone stated that Bitcoin has technically signaled an upward breakout, but assessed that a sustained rally would be directly linked to overall macroeconomic balances and the actions of the Fed. He also claimed that BTC is currently in a bear market.
