GameSquare Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: GAME) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Animecoin Foundation, a non-commercial organization that supports the Animecoin ecosystem. The agreement will expand GameSquare’s Web3 activities, add new digital assets to its treasury, and increase its presence in the global anime and gaming markets.

As part of the one-year agreement, GameSquare will purchase up to $2.5 million worth of Animecoin on the open market. The company will also act as the agency of record for the Animecoin Foundation and receive $2.5 million in Animecoin for its creative and agency services. GameSquare will assist in expanding Animecoin’s global reach, including through collaboration with Azuki, an anime company that operates Anime.com and develops original content.

GameSquare will work with Azuki on physical and digital products and experiences aimed at gaming and anime audiences. Animecoin branding will also appear on the jersey of FaZe Esports.

Animecoin, with a fully diluted value of over $180 million according to CoinMarketCap, aims to support growth in the entertainment ecosystem for gaming and anime. GameSquare expects the partnership to increase its Web3 revenues, diversify its treasury, and create opportunities for further digital economy collaborations. According to Grand View Research, the global anime market is projected to reach over $37.7 billion in 2025.
