JUST IN: Sources Say Donald Trump Will Announce Tonight That the War with Iran Is Nearing Its End

US President Donald Trump is preparing to announce that the war with Iran, which has been ongoing for about a month, is nearing its end.

According to White House sources, Trump will announce in his address to the nation from the Oval Office today that military objectives have been largely achieved.

The president’s statements, social media posts, and public messages over the past 24 hours have laid the groundwork for this speech. Sources close to the planning indicate that Trump will emphasize in his speech that the operations in Iran have achieved their objectives and will announce that the war has entered its “final phase.”

Trump is also expected to harshly criticize NATO allies regarding restrictions on maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical areas of the conflict. The president is reportedly going to argue that responsibility for the strait should be shared by Gulf states and European allies.

Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, also commented that the president would “declare victory” in his speech and reveal the US plan to withdraw from the region within a few weeks. According to Bannon, Trump would also intensify his criticism of NATO countries.

On the other hand, the speech comes at a politically critical time due to rising oil prices and negative public perception. The disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, which pushed oil prices above $100 per barrel, have increased anxiety in global markets.

As the Trump administration attempts to clarify its “exit strategy” for the war, the deployment of an additional 2,500 US Marines to the region is noteworthy.
