SHIB Community Marks Shiba Inu’s 6th Birthday: What’s Ahead?

Launched on August 1, 2020, by its pseudonymous founder “Ryoshi,” Shiba Inu is celebrating six years since its inception.

The Shiba Inu community is celebrating this milestone, marking six years since the launch of the dog-themed cryptocurrency, which has now grown into one of the most recognized tokens in the digital asset space.

Birthday wishes are pouring in for the dog coin from top community members to crypto exchanges. LBank exchange is celebrating Shiba Inu’s sixth anniversary with a $66,666 reward pool. Prizes include $SHIB, BTC, ETH, an iPhone 17 Pro, and futures bonuses.

HTX crypto exchange offered birthday wishes as Shiba Inu turns 6, noting that what started as a meme has now become a global movement, powered by the Shiba Inu community, culture, and decentralization.

Shiba Inu has steadily grown in holder count and has now surpassed 1.6 million in a key milestone. 78,977 on-chain holders were added in July, bringing the total to 1,678,192.

Kuro, a long-time Shiba Inu community member, penned birthday wishes for the dog-themed token: “Happy 6th birthday, $SHIB. The journey continues.”

$SHIB is celebrating its sixth birthday, but the community is looking past the birthday party to the future of the ecosystem.

Mazrael, a Shiba Inu community veteran, hinted at major updates ahead for $SHIB projects. The projects specifically mentioned are the Shiba Eternity game and the Shiba Inu metaverse, a virtual world backed by the Shiba Inu ecosystem, which Mazrael stated had been temporarily paused.

While Shiba Inu’s six-year journey has not been devoid of challenges, Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya said that the Shiba Inu vision isn’t dead but has “just been through something hard.” The developer highlighted a focus on technology, noting that 2026 will be about repair, focus, and building something that can actually last.

On Shiba Inu’s sixth anniversary, the dog token is trading up 6.74% in the last 24 hours at $0.00000496, outperforming most major cryptocurrencies. It is up 16.66% weekly but down nearly 95% from an all-time high of $0.0000884 reached in October 2021.
