Which Way Will the Bitcoin Price Go in the Coming Days? Are the $80,000–$90,000 Levels on the Horizon?

Experts Dave Weisberger, Peter Tchir, and David Duong discussed the global economy, cryptocurrency markets, and recent key news topics.

Academy Securities Macro Strategist Peter Tchir noted that Bitcoin has shown strong consolidation recently despite sharp sell-offs in semiconductor and AI stocks. Stating that capital withdrawn from the technology sector is beginning to shift back into crypto ETFs, Tchir said:

“I think the group of investors stuck in AI and semiconductor trading may turn back to crypto. Bitcoin’s resilience despite the MicroStrategy news is quite positive. I would be concerned if the price dropped below $58,000, but given the current structure, I am optimistic that we can see levels between $80,000 and $90,000 in the coming months.”

Market expert Dave Weisberger added that Bitcoin has a network effect beyond its 4-year cycle patterns and that the current market pricing underestimates Bitcoin’s true value. Stating that the US’s national debt, approaching $40 trillion, and its annual budget deficit of $2 trillion are the biggest supports for Bitcoin, Weisberger said:

“It was claimed that Bitcoin was only holding above $60,000 because Michael Saylor was buying it. However, even though Saylor stopped buying in recent weeks and raised cash and sold shares, the Bitcoin price continued to rise. This completely debunked the ‘Saylor dependency’ narrative in the market.”

People think they’ll be able to buy Bitcoin cheaper in September or October. But that’s not how markets work. The price will go up not because Bitcoin is rising, but because the US dollar is losing value.

An autonomous economy where AI agents will transact among themselves is rapidly approaching. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency infrastructure will become a necessity for agents to be able to transact without intermediaries. This has not yet been priced into the markets.”

Coinbase Research Advisor David Duong stated that global interest rate and inflation dynamics have created a structure that supports risky assets like Bitcoin.

Duong stated that the interest rate hike scenarios were not realistic, and said the following:

“The current macroeconomic environment generally supports risk-taking. There is a sustained downward trend in inflation (disinflation). In this environment, where the Federal Reserve (Fed) and the US Treasury Department are trying to control the yield curve, a constructive long-term environment is emerging for rare assets like Bitcoin.”
