Ripple’s Dubai Event Presence Gets High-Profile Boost From Emirates Chairman

Ripple received high-profile attention during the recently concluded Dubai FinTech Summit, which took place November 2-3, 2026, with Emirates Airline Chairman and Chief Executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum visiting the company’s booth during the event.

In a recent X post about the event, Reece Merrick, Ripple’s Senior Executive Officer/Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, commented that it was an incredible week at the summit. He added that it was a busy couple of days marked by immense interest and strong engagement around Ripple’s offerings across the Middle East region.

Merrick also noted that the company is still committed to growing its presence in the Middle East through its hub at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Ripple’s exhibition stand was also attended by DIFC Governor Essa Kazim and DIFC CEO Arif Amiri, as well as Emirates Airline Chairman and Chief Executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

The high-profile visit was a highlight of Ripple’s presence at the summit, offering a platform to connect with regional stakeholders and demonstrate its financial technology solutions. Although the visit does not, by itself, signal a new partnership or agreement, it highlights the level of institutional and executive engagement surrounding Ripple at the event.

As reported, Merrick highlighted his participation at the Dubai FinTech Summit as part of a panel that explored how digital assets could scale alongside executives from BlackRock, Standard Chartered and Robinhood.

Ripple grows in the Middle East

Ripple’s commitment to the Middle East as a central region for its growth strategy remains steadfast, with its presence in the DIFC serving as a springboard for fostering relationships and identifying potential opportunities within the market.

Ripple in 2026 said it was expanding in the UAE with the opening of its Middle East and Africa (MEA) regional headquarters in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The announcement highlighted the strategic footprint of the firm in the country.

In 2024, Ripple announced a partnership with the DIFC Innovation Hub—the Dubai International Financial Centre’s (DIFC) vibrant innovation ecosystem—to promote blockchain innovation in the UAE.
